Terms & Conditions

Full terms and conditions for The Cozy Crumb are detailed below. By making an initial payment it will be deemed that the terms are understood and accepted as applying to your order. Once your deposit has been received or a purchase has been made, you are in a legally binding contract with The Cozy Crumb, which is to be upheld by both parties.

Payment Conditions
 

Prices
Following your enquiry, your quote is valid for 7 days only, paying your initial payment (see below) secures this price & prevents any further price increases, except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control e.g. exceptional fuel price increases etc.

 

Initial Payments
A non-refundable initial payment is required in order to secure the commission of your cake and chosen date with The Cozy Crumb. For orders under £60, full payment is required to secure the date, and no later than 2 weeks before the event, unless otherwise agreed by The Cozy Crumb.

Payment
Payment should be made by bank transfer to;

Please message me with confirmation of transfer in order to prompt acknowledgement of the payment, a message of confirmation of payment will then be sent.
Final payment for your cake is required no later than 2 weeks (for smaller orders), 4 week for larger orders, before the collection/delivery. Unless otherwise agreed by both parties.
Full payment must be received and cleared in my account before the event or the order will not be released. FAILURE TO RESPOND TO COMMUNICATION REGARDING OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS WILL PREVENT YOUR ODER FROM BEING FULFILLED IN AGREED TIMELINE.

 

Damage

The Cozy Crumb will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises. Please remember that cake decorations are very delicate items, and The Cozy Crumb cannot accept responsibility for damage that is done to the cake after it has left our possession.


If any damage is rendered to the cake after it has left our possession, then you can advise us and request
a repair, which will be costed accordingly. Tiered cakes are most at risk during transport, so please seek our advice on how to transport it or request delivery (at an additional charge).

Non-Edible Items

Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items, it is the clients responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, toothpicks holding items in place such a chocolate covered polystyrene balls.

Cancellation
If cancellation of your event takes place The Cozy Crumb reserve the right to retain all, or a proportion of, your Initial Payment, to cover any expenses already incurred. If cancellation takes place 4 weeks before the event then we reserve the right to keep 75% of the total price, or if cancellation occurs 7 days prior then 100% of the value with be retained to cover the costs of production of the cake. If you postpone an event The Cozy Crumb will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is available, otherwise it will be treated as a cancellation.
The Cozy Crumb retains the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health, during which we will refund any money taken in full.

 

Delivery
Delivery is only available for wedding cakes and certain circumstances (that have been agreed prior to payment with The Cozy Crumb). Delivery charge is calculated on a mileage and time basis. All other cakes must be collected from The Cozy Crumb premises. If delivery is possible, it is our intention that your cake will be delivered in perfect condition.

 
Design
Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo. Every cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency some variation may occur.

 

Chocolate
We recommend extreme caution if you are considering a cake decorated with chocolate for a summer event (May-September). We cannot accept responsibility for any melting of the cake once it has left our possession, as we have no control over the environmental / venue temperature. We can however advise you of designs that are less susceptible to melting and do everything within our control to reduce the impact on the cake.

 

Complaints
In the unlikely event that you have a complaint about your celebration cake, please inform The Cozy Crumb immediately. Should you have concerns about your cake, please notify me immediately upon collection/delivery of the cake so that I have the opportunity to rectify it in time for your event. All other concerns should be made via email, and evidence of the fault should be included. No refunds are given due to change of mind.
Refunds are at the discretion of The Cozy Crumb.
